Friends of Miami-Dade Detainees\, United We Dream\, Women Working Together Usa\, United Families and others have maintained a weekly presence at this ICE fortress for 7 months to bear witness\, and to provide support with water\, coffee\, donuts\, snacks\, and humanity. Please take even an hour to show where you stand. \nTodos los días\, cientos de inmigrantes hacen colas en el sol\, el calor\, el frío y la lluvia durante horas y horas solo para saber si aún son dignos de quedarse en este pais \, o serán encarcelados y deportados\, destruyendo vidas y familias\nNo tienen acceso a baños. A WONDERFUL AND BRAVE WOMAN WHO HAS TO REPORT ON THURSDAY HAS REACHED OUT TO US AND HAS ASKED US TO BE PRESENT!!! \nJoin the Friends of Miami-Dade Detainees and our amazing co-hosts as we shine a light on the secrecy that ICE requires to destroy and separate families. Community members Bud Conlin & Tomas Kennedy were banned by ICE from further participation in community visitation at the Krome Detention Center for exercising their right to protected speech at Miramar last July. We will formally demand that ICE restore their right to visitation while we call out the atrocity of the Miramar Center as another weapon used by ICE to funnel members of our community into the detention and deportation machine.\nThe rally and press conference will begin at 11 a.m. following the regular Circle of Protection. Come early and bring your favorite sign.
